Brimham Rocks (NT) and Pateley Bridge
Brimham Rocks with its fantastic views and bizarre rock formations, scattered over 50 acres.
The Rocks and its heather moorland are both Sites of Special Scientific Interest and are a magnet for climbers, walkers, and families who love the freedom to explore this amazing place.
Also visit Pateley Bridge with its traditional high street, cafés and peaceful riverside walks.
Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal World Heritage Site
For centuries people have been drawn to this inspiring place. The atmospheric ruins of Fountains Abbey that remain are a window into a way of life which shaped the medieval world.
Studley Royal is an elegant water garden of mirror-like ponds, statues and follies. Green lawns stretch down to the riverside, a perfect spot for a picnic. Riverside paths lead to the deer park, home to deer and ancient trees. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Newby Hall and Ripley Castle
Newby Hall near Ripon - one of Britain’s finest Adam Houses and an exceptional example of 18th century interior decoration. Built in the 1690s by Sir Christopher Wren. Magnificant gardens, playground, railway & exhibitions. Restaurant open for delicious hot and cold takeaway food
Ripley Castle is a Grade 1 listed 14th-century country house in Ripley, near Harrogate. Visit the stunning gardens and grounds and take a walk around the castle wall. Tearooms and takeway plus the Boars Head pub for food.
Stump Cross Caverns
Situated between Wharfdale and Nidderdale in the beautifully rugged county of North Yorkshire, Stump Cross Caverns provide a wonderfully atmospheric and genuinely interesting place to visit.
An ancient natural cave formation deep underneath the Yorkshire Dales. Caves, cafe, cinema, shop, hilltop walks and an excellent visitor centre.
